I am getting so excited for apple season!
I feel like I have been waiting all year for fall to begin as it is filled with some of the best foodie flavors!
One of my favorite apple snacks growing up was apples & peanut butter.
It’s a dynamic duo from the fresh sweetness of the apple to the perfectly salty creamy peanut butter.
But apples & peanut butter aren’t just for kids!
I decided to take this childhood duo & turn it into an awesome anytime snack that both kids & adults will love to create & eat together.
And just as this isn’t any ordinary snack I decided to use an extra awesome & amazing tasting peanut butter.
So I picked up the Windstone Farms Creamy Peanut Butter Portable Packets that is new to Walmart to create these Apple Donuts.
I like to keep easy snacks on hand that are perfect for putting in my purse as I run out the door.
These are a wholesome alternative to unhealthy snacks with 7G of protein per packet.
And aren’t these the cutest snacks you’ve ever seen?
I had so much fun decorating all of these “donut” apple slices & while I used toppings like mini chocolate chips & sprinkles you could use whatever you like the best or whatever you already have on hand in your pantry.
However, I will say, the mini chocolate chip ones are my favorite & I did make a special trip to the store to get them because I knew they would be extra cute.
Although Windstone Farms has been family owned & operated for 35 years the Windstone Farms Peanut Butter Packets are new to Walmart & can be found in the peanut butter aisle.
And since these packets are an extra convenient size (1.15oz squeezable packets) I can easily take them with me anywhere.
Their portable packaging makes it easy to carry in a backpack, handbag, or even in your pocket!
Which means you can make this snack at home, at work, or even while on a picnic!
Apple Donuts Snack
These fun apple donuts are a quick snack that can be made at home or on the go!
- Yield: Serves 2
Ingredients
- 2 Windstone Farms Peanut Butter Packets
- 2 Apples
- Toppings (like chocolate chips, shredded coconut, chocolate drizzle, sprinkles, pistachios, ect.)
Instructions
- First slice your apples into rings & use a metal icing tip to cut out the center seeds to create a donut shape.
- Next spread Windstone Farms Peanut Butter on each apple slice.
- Finally, top with your favorite “donut” toppings & enjoy!
