DIY Seashell Trinket Dish -

Creating this DIY Seashell Trinket Dish is a fun way to spend a rainy day at the beach.

Earlier this month, we spent the week with Roger’s family at the beach in the Florida Keys.

We usually drive down there 1-2 times a year and we know the summers can be very hot.

So in preparation for spending some afternoons cooling off in the condo, I brought along a few supplies to create some fun beach DIYs.

I’ll be sharing the second one soon, but this DIY Seashell Trinket Dish may just be my favorite.

You can customize these with any napkin and it can become a special souvenir from your beach vacation.

While I did this as a way to get a break from the sun this would also make a great activity for a rainy afternoon at the beach.

What do you like to do on rainy beach days?

Materials: (The products I used are linked below. Click each one to shop for products.)

Tutorial:

1. First, open the floral napkin and separate the top of the napkin from the base. (Images 1-2)

2. Brush the mod podge onto the smooth inside of the seashell. (Image 3)

3. Place the napkin on the inside of the shell, onto the mod podge, and pull tight. (Image 4)

4. Carefully smooth out the wrinkles with your fingers. Let dry. (Image 5)

5. Flip the shell upside down and cut off the excess napkin. (Image 6)

6. Brush on a final coat of mod podge and let dry. (Image 7)

7. Finally, brush the gold paint marker on the edges of the shell. Let dry. (Image 8)

8. Use as summer decor or use as a trinket dish.
