How to create a DIY Pressed Flower Candle with dried wildflowers on a large pillar candle.

I absolutely love Queen Anne’s Lace flowers!
The weekend Roger and I were married (11 years ago) we drove through the countryside and I would hop out of the car every time we saw a large patch of these wildflowers.
I harvested as much as I could reach and then we’d drive on looking for more along the side of the road.
We used them all over as a way to save money while decorating our backyard wedding.
When I saw them growing at the end of our driveway I knew I wanted to save them and press them.
Many years ago my Oma (grandma) gave me a flower press that sadly went missing long ago, but my love for pressing flowers is still here.
So I grabbed a bunch of books off of our living room built-ins and pressed handfuls of wildflowers and small leafy stems to create this DIY Pressed Flower Candle.
And as soon as it burns down low enough, I plan to use the flameless candle hack that I shared a few weeks ago to make this DIY last longer and be more kid-safe.
What’s your favorite wildflower?

Materials: (The products I used are linked below. Click each one to shop for products.)
Dried Pressed Flowers (I pressed wildflowers I had picked, but you can find some online by clicking here.)
Lighter (or matches)*
Flameless Candle – optional
Instructions:
1. First, light your tea candles and let them burn for 10-15 minutes. This will create melted wax for your project.*
2. Turn your pillar candle on its side and place a pressed dried leaf stem or flower stem on the candle. (Image 1)
3. Dip your brush in the melted wax (avoid touching the flame with yourself or your brush), and quickly brush the melted wax onto the stem. The melted wax acts like glue so you will want to brush melted wax over the entire stem/leaf/flower so that it stays in place. (Image 2)
4. Continue this process around the entire candle. (Images 3-4)
*Warning! Please be cautious around open flames and hot wax. The melted wax will be hot and could burn you. Do not leave a lit/burning flame or candle unattended. Always take precautions and keep a fire extinguisher nearby. This is not a DIY for children.
