Ever since I made Nutella Raspberry Puff Pastry Hearts I couldn’t wait to make these Puff Pastry Bunnies filled with homemade whipped cream, Nutella, and fresh berries.

We found the cutest bunny cookie cutters that came in 3 sizes and to make them extra cute I added a little whipped cream tail to each bunny.

The littlest of the 3 sizes I didn’t fill, I simply added the tail and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

I filled the bigger puff pastry bunnies with strawberry slices and blueberries, but you could fill them with any of your favorite fruits like raspberries, blackberries, or peaches.

And don’t worry, I didn’t leave any delicious puff pastry behind, I baked it up on the side. It’s perfect for dipping and enjoying with any leftover whipped cream and Nutella.

What’s your favorite puff pastry filing?

Instructions

  1. First, defrost the puff pastry according to the packaging instructions.
  2. Preheat your oven according to the packaging instructions and line 2-3 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Open the puff pastry, place it on a clean counter, and cut it with the bunny cookie cutters. I used all 3 sizes to cut as many bunny puff pastries as possible.
  4. Place the bunny puff pastries on the baking sheets and the excess puff pastry on a separate baking sheet.
  5. Beat one egg, and use a pastry brush to brush the egg wash on each bunny and on the excess puff pastry on the other baking sheet.
  6. Bake the puff pastry bunnies and the excess puff pastry according to the puff pastry baking instructions. *(1-2)
  7. While the bunnies are baking, combine the 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1/3 teaspoon pure vanilla extract in a medium bowl.
  8. Blend on the highest speed for 3-5 minutes, or until stiff peaks form.
  9. Place the whipped cream in a piping bag (I used a sandwich bag) with a piping tip (I used a closed star tip) and the Nutella *(3) in a separate piping bag with a piping tip (I used a round tip). Set to the side.
  10. Remove the bunnies from the oven and let cool.
  11. Cut a puff pastry bunny in half, open it up (like two pieces of bread for a sandwich), and pipe the whipped cream around the edges of the base bunny and the Nutella on the inside of the bunny.
  12. Add berries on top of the whipped cream and Nutella and then place the top of the bunny on top of the fruit.
  13. Repeat this process on all of the bunnies.
  14. Then add a dollop of whipped cream on each bunny to create a bunny tail and sprinkle all of them with powdered sugar.
  15. Enjoy!

Notes

  1. We baked ours at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for ~12-15 minutes until golden.
  2. I baked the bunnies on the middle rack and the excess puff pastry below it, once the bunnies were done, I removed them from the oven and moved the excess up to the middle rack to finish baking/become golden.
  3. The amount will vary based on personal preference.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
