DIY Wood Bead Heart with pink velvet ribbon bow for Valentine’s Day.

This DIY Wood Bead Heart is the first addition of Valentine’s Day decor to our home this year.
Ever since we finished taking down the Christmas decorations, our home has been looking a little bit empty.
So I decided to go ahead and start decorating for Valentine’s Day by creating a simple and cute DIY Wood Bead Heart.
I wanted to make it a little extra girly so I added a pink velvet bow on one side.
Currently, it is sitting on top of our fireplace mantel, but I have a feeling it will move around as I continue to add more Valentine’s Day decor to our home.

Materials
(Click the words below to find the exact items used.)
Wired Hemp (or Wired Twine – as used in this DIY blog post) – I have tried other brands of wired twine in the past that doesn’t keep its shape, but both of these work.
Wood Beads (I used the 20mm & 16mm beads in this set)

Directions:
1. First, cut the wired hemp to your desired length. I cut mine to ~44 inches.
2. Next, form a heart shape with the wire.
3. Thread the wooden beads onto both ends of the wire. I chose to do a mixture of two different-sized beads.
Tip: If the hemp or twine begins to fray at the end, wrap a small piece of tape to keep it in place.
4. Once the wired hemp is covered with beads, twist the two ends together.
5. Cut off the excess wire using your scissors, leaving just enough remaining wire to place one last bead at the end.
6. Place the last wooden bead on the two pieces of twisted wire. You may need to twist this bead up onto the wired hemp.
7. Form a bow with the velvet ribbon and hot glue it into place.
8. Let the hot glue dry and then place your DIY Wood Bead Heart amongst your Valentine’s Day decor!

I hope this DIY Wood Bead Heart helps you as you decorate your home for Valentine’s Day!
