Can you believe that it’s been almost a year since I first shared Roger’s Fresh Strawberry Vanilla Milkshake? Crazy right? Well since Valentine’s Day is just a couple days away I thought I would share a recipe based off of Roger’s original, but with a special Valentine’s addition – dark chocolate!

With strawberries on sale right now we have been enjoying a lot of strawberry recipes & if you haven’t noticed all of them include dark chocolate. My perfect Valentine’s Day would start with a Nutella Strawberry Quesadilla for breakfast, with a Dark Chocolate Strawberry Scone with Strawberry Drizzle for lunch, & this Dark Chocolate Strawberry Milkshake for dessert after dinner! Yes, as you can see I am mildly obsessed.

The sweet strawberry milkshake combined with the bitter sweet dark chocolate makes this Dark Chocolate Strawberry Milkshake perfect for Valentine’s Day.
This recipe makes 1 large or 2 small Dark Chocolate Strawberry Milkshakes
Ingredients:
1 Cup Sliced Fresh Strawberries
1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
2 Cups Vanilla Ice Cream – You could do 1 cup vanilla and 1 cup strawberry, but we prefer vanilla
½ Cup Milk
1/3 Cup Chopped Dove Dark Chocolate – Plus extra for the top of your milkshake
First, place the 1 cup of sliced strawberries in the blender, then add 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, 2 cups ice cream, ½ cup of milk, & 1/3 cup chopped dark chocolate.
Place the lid on top & blend the ingredients together. Our blender has a milkshake/puree button – just make sure not to over blend the ingredients, its nice to have some small chunks of strawberry.
Pour into your favorite cup & top with large pieces of chopped dark chocolate.
