Have you ever felt like you needed a vacation from your vacation? Well that’s how I had been feeling over the last week or two – which is probably why I haven’t seemed as active on DB recently… However outward appearances might look I thought I should let you know that in the last 24 hours I have worked on 3 recipes that will hopefully be coming to you very soon – one is in the oven as I speak write!
In the meantime I thought I should start showing you what I have been working on recently, starting with this fun little DIY Paper Bookmarks project.
I know some people might think it is a bit murderous to have a bookmark made from a book page, but remember I have a special love for saving old books and giving them a new life!
What you’ll need:
Bookmark Template – free download
Printer
Scrapbooking Paper or Book Paper
Glue Stick
Scissors
(affiliate links included)
First, print and cut out the bookmarks on card stock paper. If you want the bookmarks to be larger or smaller than in this template just adjust the sizes before printing or do a test print first on regular printing paper.
Next, place glue on the blank bookmark and attach it to the back of the scrapbook paper and cut it out. Repeat this step on the remaining blank side of the bookmark. Then add lace or twine with the glue.
To create the Lace Rose Bookmark I glued half of the lace to one side, then wrapped it around and glued it to the back. For the Pink Lace Bookmark I glued the lace in between the blank bookmark template and the scrapbook paper. I just wrapped a piece of twine and tied it into a bow for the Book Page Bookmark – I also glued the back of it to the bookmark.
Since I am constantly losing those cheap free bookmarks – and since those Cherry Blossom Bookmarks have made a transition into hair accessories instead of bookmarks – I am hoping these will last a little longer since they are so cute and girly!
These DIY Paper Bookmarks would make a great craft for your kids summer reading or a fun DIY to include in your back to school supplies. Plus, if you are looking for an inexpensive DIY favor for a party, shower, or wedding that uses old books or antiqued paper as decor these DIY Paper Bookmarks might be perfect for you!
I’d love to see your Paper Bookmarks! Show off your beautiful creations on Instagram with the hashtag #DomesticallyBlissful
