This Double Dark Hot Chocolate is a thick hot chocolate similar to French Hot Chocolate that is rich, creamy, and filled with lots of dark chocolate.

Earlier this year, while taste-testing this Double Dark Chocolate Ice Cream, Roger and I thought it would make a delicious hot chocolate recipe.
The first few steps of making chocolate ice cream are pretty similar to making hot chocolate as you put all of the ingredients into a pot and bring it to a simmer before letting it cool and pouring it into an ice cream machine.
So I got to work making some adjustments here and there to turn our favorite homemade dark chocolate ice cream recipe into an irresistibly decadent dark hot chocolate recipe.
And oh my, is this the richest and creamiest homemade hot chocolate!
This Double Dark Hot Chocolate is reminiscent of French Hot Chocolate as it’s thick and perfect for sipping.
Typically this much hot chocolate would serve about 4-6 people, but this is incredibly decadent hot chocolate.
You won’t need much to be completely satisfied as it’s a chocolate lover’s dream come true!
Of course, if it’s too rich for you, there is always the option of adding more milk to thin it out.
But I highly recommend trying the original version first, as you may be surprised how much you enjoy this deep dark hot chocolate!
