So technically these 4th of July Cake Pops aren’t actually made of cake, but when they look and taste like them, who’s going to know but you and me?
These cake pops are made from only frosted sugar cookies and cream cheese.
I then topped them with candy melts and sprinkles.
If you want the cake batter to not turn out slightly green, like mine did, I recommend choosing a frosted sugar cookie that has pink frosting instead of blue frosting.
But it’s all that was available when I bought them, so I just went with it!
I took them to a party (the same party I took the viral Watermelon Cake to) and no one said anything about the color on the inside.
But mostly kids ate them so I’m not even sure if they noticed the color on the inside.
I made a little cake pop stand by wrapping a piece of foam in wrapping paper and then poking holes in the top.
It worked perfectly!
Have you tried this cake pop hack using cookies?

Ingredients
Instructions
- First, place all 20 cookies and the room-temperature cream cheese into a stand mixer.
- Use a flat beater to mix the cookies and cream cheese together.
- Scoop out the batter with a small cookie scoop and place it on a piece of wax paper.
- Once all of the batter is scoped, roll each one in your hands to create a cake ball shape.
- Melt a little bit of the white candy melts, stick the top of a lollipop stick into the melted candy melts, and then place it into one of the cake balls. Repeat this process so that all of the cake balls have a lollipop stick in them.
- The candy melt on the stick acts like edible glue to help hold the cake ball to the lollipop stick.
- Pour all of the sprinkles into a bowl and set to the side.
- Melt the red, white, and blue candy melts.
- Dip a cake pop into one of the candy melts and then top with the sprinkles.
- Repeat this process on all of the cake pops with the 3 colors of candy melts.
- Let the candy melts harden and enjoy!
Notes
- I used both the red, white, and blue sugar pearls that come mixed together along with the larger white sugar pearls.
