May saw a lot of changes to our new House Build! During the beginning of May, the framers worked hard to get the second floor completed and started working on the roof beams.

Once the whole roof was framed, then we had a roofing crew come in and do our entire shingle roof in about 2.5 days!

Once all the shingles were down and our home started getting more dried in, the framers finished the sheathing boards for the external walls and also did house wrap.

The framers finished up near the middle/end of May and then we had all our exterior doors and windows installed.

Right after the framers finished up Roger, little Roger, and I went out to our house to do a little family dedication of our new home.

I have been looking forward to dedicating our new house with Bible verses ever since before we started building our home.

We did this in our last house too and when we did (way back in 2018) I shared a printable with 50+ Bible verses to bless your new home so that it is built on a strong foundation.

To date, it is my most popular printable!

We know that we aren’t just building a house, but creating a home that God will always be welcome in and live in with us.

I love knowing that we are building a solid house firmly in God’s love, grace, and goodness and I couldn’t wait to write God’s word all over our house.

I don’t ever want Him to stand outside and knock (Revelation 3:20) waiting for us to open the door to Him, but to have Him always be present inside our home and inside our hearts.

Some verses in the printable are great for your kitchen and dining area, others are good for your children’s bedrooms, a few for where mirrors will be hung, or in an office, and some are perfect for your entry and laundry room.

I wasn’t able to write all 50+ verses when we had our little family home dedication, so every time we go up I try to write 1-2 more.

And about a week after we dedicated our home, Roger noticed that one of the framers had written a Bible verse on one of the 2×4’s in a bonus room upstairs.

It brought me to tears that someone else saw our faith and wanted to share in the blessing of our home.

We are still waiting on one additional window for an upstairs bonus room which we had to order late and hopefully will be here sometime in mid-June.

The house has finally taken full shape and we can see how it looks now in 3D!

Also during May we ordered our Fireplaces and chimney, got some of our first plumbing fixtures for our master shower and tub filler, and also started looking at flooring options and cabinet options.

Sadly during early and mid-May we had some very strong thunderstorms come over our land and we lost some beautiful old trees which was very disappointing, but even still we are grateful that none of them hit our house!

One very large one fell right beside our house, but fell parallel to it and not on top of our new house, what a huge blessing!

We saw a whole lot of progress in May, but June should bring lots more changes including plumbing rough-in, HVAC rough-in, electrical rough-in, some concrete pads being poured, and hopefully starting the brick exterior as well!
