How to create a purple fall tablescape & incorporate your favorite shades of purple into your fall decor.
Growing up purple was my sister’s favorite color & over the years the color has increasingly become a favorite of mine. I’ve noticed it becoming more & more evident in my clothes, home, & decor. It’s such a beautiful color that can be soft or bold & used for every season! I know that might sound crazy, you don’t normally think of purple & fall together, but why not?
In the last few years, I have been seeing a variety of shades of blue in fall decor, especially in the farmhouse fall color scheme, so why not purple?
And surprisingly or not, it’s relatively simple to find purple fall decor!
I’ve been adding hints of purple to our fall decor all over our house. You can even see how I added a purple blanket, mustard pillow, & beaded embroidered pumpkin pillow to our living room in this picture here. I also added purple flowers & a purple fall sign that says “gather together” to our breakfast nook so that the beautiful colors would continue to flow throughout our home, which you can also get a glimpse of here.
And of course, the easiest way I’ve been adding hints of purple to our fall decor is by adding shades of purple candles throughout our home.
So now, not only does our home smell delicious, but it’s decorated for fall with a purple fall color scheme!
And it’s so cozy!!
My inspiration for all of our purple fall decor is a mixture of my sister (who has also been decorating her home with purple fall decor) & Welch’s brand new drink products. Welch’s 100% juice with coconut water has the great taste of Welch’s 100% Juice with 30% less sugar & is made by perfectly blending their 100% juice with coconut water, which is naturally lower in sugar.
And they come in two new flavors, Welch’s Tropical Berry Grape & Welch’s White Grape Mango. So even though we are now fully into fall you can still enjoy your favorite tropical flavors anytime! Click here to learn more about the benefits & how Welch’s is made right here in the USA, with family farmers & Welch’s grapes! And be sure to click here to find a retailer near you so that you & your family can enjoy a yummy drink with 2 servings of fruit in every 8oz glass & no added sweetener or sugar.
So to celebrate the season & my growing love for purple I thought I would share with you how easy it was to create this purple fall tablescape along with some tips on how to create your own beautifully unique fall tablescape with purple decor!
And before I share my five favorite ways to add touches of purple decor to your tablescape I thought I should share a little mini tip to help your purple fall table decor flow seamlessly together.
So my first tip is to start with a base of neutral colors so that your purple decor will pop (without being overwhelming) & flow well with your fall decor. As you can see I opted to leave the dark wood table Roger designed & created for us as the base, & then I added lots of neutral elements with pops of purple!
I hope you have fun creating your own purple fall tablescape with the tips below!
1. Flowers
Flowers may be one of the easiest ways to add purple to your fall decor.
There are so many gorgeous naturally purple flowers, some of my favorites are lavender, sea holly, wisteria, lisianthus, sweet pea, & lilac. Also, I love adding hints of white & green to balance the bouquet.
2. Pumpkins
Faux & heirloom pumpkins are a great way to add seasonal color to your tablescape & there are so many ways to use them!
I placed faux purple pumpkins on each plate & white pumpkins in the centerpiece. And you could also buy real or faux white pumpkins & sponge purple paint on top to get the look you desire.
If you are looking to add real pumpkins to your purple tablescape there are a lot of beautiful heirloom pumpkins that will pair well with your purple faux pumpkins, like Jarrahdale Pumpkins, Cotton Candy Pumpkins, & the Queensland Blue Pumpkins. And although it’s called the Blue Moon Pumpkin, sometimes you can find one that has a little bit of a purple hue.
3. Table Runner or Tablecloth
I chose a neutral table runner that had beaded pumpkins on each end. A few of the beaded pumpkins had a slight purple hue which added to the purple fall color scheme of the table.
When choosing a table runner or tablecloth just be sure to add lots of neutral elements to balance the purple amongst your fall table decor.
4. Drink & Food
A fun & delicious way to add touches of purple to your fall tablescape is by adding purple food & drink to your table. You could create an appetizer of cheese & fruit with purple grapes for dinner, thumbprint scones with grape jam for brunch, & for all of the meals you can toast to good friends & family with Welch’s 100% Grape Juice with Coconut Water!
These new products have great taste & refreshing goodness with a colorful look that will match perfectly with your purple fall decor!
5. Candles
Candles are a great way to add purple to your fall decor, plus they can be used year-round in your home or for any other party or event.
You can find purple candles with a lovely scent or you can purchase white candles & paint/sponge purple onto the candles to create the perfect shade of purple for your fall tablescape. I especially love this centerpiece with the candles on top because it creates height to the table, while still allowing you to see across the table, & it allows the purple to be center stage amongst your other fall decor.
