One of the first things we did after selling our house and moving into my parents mother-in-law suite was to create a kitchen.
When my parents renovated their house (and when I say renovate, I mean basically tore down and started over), they preplanned for a kitchen in the basement and had plumbing and electrical installed.
They could have never guessed that 22 years later we’d be moving in and finishing out the kitchen (my mom’s dream), while we built a new house.
Honestly, that whole first month was a crazy whirlwind, between moving, our son’s birthday, starting the busy season with our small buisness, the begining of the holiday season, looking for land, and creating this kitchen, we were pretty exhausted.
But it was definitely all worth it!
And while some people think white kitchens are a trend, the reason I chose a white kitchen in our first house, our last house (the one we just sold), and in this kitchen is because white kitchens are classic and timeless.
My parents have had white cabinets since 1997, and honestly, I love white cabinets.
Part of me wants to do something different in the house we are building, but I have a feeling white cabinets will be in our next home too.
I guess we will have to wait and see!
