Sharing is caring!

This DIY Beach Napkin Makeup Bag is a fun and inexpensive way to makeover a makeup bag for a beach trip.

One of my favorite craft supplies is paper napkins.

I have a whole collection of napkins for crafting, and I love finding new ways to use them, from napkin candles to kitchen towels, and now makeup bags!

And isn’t this DIY Beach Napkin Makeup Bag absolutely perfect for summer or a beach trip!?

*I haven’t washed this DIY Beach Napkin Makeup Bag yet, but I have washed the napkin kitchen towel. I plan to spot clean and hand wash as needed.

Materials:

Beach Napkins

Scissors

Plastic Wrap

Makeup Bag

Parchment Paper

Small Iron

Instructions:

1. First, open up the napkin and remove all of the inner layers of the napkin.

2. Cut out your favorite beach shapes.

3. Next, place a large piece of plastic wrap on your counter, and place a napkin beach shape on top.

4. Cut out a piece of plastic wrap that is twice as big as the napkin beach shape, then fold the plastic wrap up and over the beach shape so it is sandwiched between the plastic wrap.

5. Cut off the edges of the plastic wrap, leaving ~1/4 inch of plastic all around the napkin beach shape and place it on the makeup bag.

6. Repeat the above steps and create a pattern of plastic-wrapped napkin beach shapes on your makeup bag.

6. Place a piece of parchment paper on top of your makeup bag.

7. Iron the parchment-covered makeup bag (I used heat setting 6) until the plastic has fully melted into the makeup bag.
Note: I had a window open nearby to avoid a melting plastic smell.

8. Remove the parchment paper and, if desired (for extra protection), add a sheet of plastic wrap on top of your makeup bag, top with parchment paper, and iron it again until the plastic has fully melted into the makeup bag.

Note: The plastic wrap doesn’t have to be the exact size of the makeup bag; the heat of the iron should cause the edges that aren’t heated to peel off easily (see image 14).

8. Remove the parchment paper and enjoy your new DIY Beach Napkin Makeup Bag!

Notes:

1. The paper may yellow slightly if ironed too long or at too high a temperature.

2. I haven’t washed this DIY Beach Napkin Makeup Bag yet, but I have washed the napkin kitchen towel. I plan to spot clean and hand wash as needed.
