If you are planning an adventure to Egypt I highly recommend that you don’t miss out on staying at a 5-star luxury resort!
We stayed at 2 extraordinary resorts that I cannot recommend highly enough that had the most one-of-kind views that will make you never want to leave.
I have another Egypt post coming up next month about 10 Must-Have Experiences in Egypt & it may sound funny, but in this post, I recommend staying at a 5-star hotel.
Because not only are they significantly less expensive than most 5-star resorts around the world, but there are some incredible views to behold from a few select resorts in Egypt.
We stayed at 3 resorts & 1 hotel while in Egypt & you will find a mini review of each one below.
And while this post is about 3 beautiful resorts to stay at, I decided to add our last hotel because we found it so nice & convenient for our last night in Egypt.
Each of these 4 places has something amazing to recommend themselves & I hope my honest review below helps you as you plan your Egypt vacation.

Marriott Mena House
Staying at the Marriott Mena House Cairo was like staying at the pyramids, but with 5-star accommodations!
Roger is a platinum elite Bonvoy member & when we arrived at the Marriott Mena House they upgraded us to rooms with a view of the pyramids.
This resort & view were my in-laws absolute favorite!
It was a kind of a pinch-me moment to wake up, look outside, & see the pyramids in all their grandeur.
And between the Italian restaurant & the Indian restaurant I had some of my favorite food in Egypt while at the Cairo Marriott Mena House.

If you plan on spending any amount of time in Cairo a stay at the Marriott Mena House is a must!
From the great location to the resort property, the amazing view to the delicious food, this resort is one you won’t want to miss while traveling in Egypt.
And with the new Cairo Museum right down the street, you will be close to so many highlights during your Egyptian adventure while staying at the Cairo Marriott Mena House.
If seeing the pyramids is high up on your bucket list, you need to stay at the Marriott Mena House. With its impressive views, this place will be one of the top highlights of your trip!

Sheraton Soma Bay Resort
We chose the Sheraton Soma Bay Resort specifically for the location & the long dock that went all the way out to the reef for snorkeling on the Red Sea.
My in-laws love snorkeling & we knew that this reef in the red sea would be a highlight of our trip.
And we weren’t wrong.
The water was gorgeous & crystal clear!

However, the Sheraton Soma Bay Resort wasn’t anything spectacular.
The resort was last renovated in 2005, but the rooms & whole atmosphere felt rather outdated & reminded us of some of the older condos in the Florida Keys.
So while I wouldn’t recommend the resort for the resort itself, I would recommend it for the gorgeous snorkeling in the red sea that is available just a short walk from the resort grounds to the boardwalk.
My in-laws love snorkeling & they said it was some of the best snorkeling they have ever experienced!

Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa
The Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa is without a doubt my favorite resort that we stayed at in Egypt!
There was just so much to love!
This resort looked & felt like a 5-star luxury resort on the inside & outside.
I could have spent a whole day watching the Nile drift by from the adults-only infinity pool.
They kept bringing us cool scented towels & drinks as we lounged on their big cushioned chairs.
And we had some really delicious food at their 3 restaurants too!
We ended our trip with a couples massage that also overlooked the Nile & I honestly wasn’t sure if I ever wanted to leave.
We’ve been back for almost 2 months now & I’m still dreaming about the Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa.
Not only was the resort beautiful, but the staff was incredibly nice & courteous.
When we were checking out on our last day the concierge came over to speak with me about our trip & ensure we had enjoyed our stay at their resort & in Egypt.
I heartily assured him of the wonderful vacation that we experienced while in their historical country.

Le Méridien Cairo Airport
Last fall we learned a very good lesson while coming home from our vacation in Ireland.
Always stay as close to the airport as you can when you have a morning flight.
Leaving early for an international flight is common sense, but flying out from a foreign city in which you don’t know the roads or traffic patterns well adds a whole new level of stress.
And while we did make our flight, we decided to play it safe(r) when flying out of Cairo.
The Le Méridien Cairo Airport was not only incredibly convenient (you can walk right into the airport from the hotel, via a sky bridge), but it was also incredibly clean, modern, & spacious.
I wish every airport had this hotel attached to it because it has definitely become the new standard by which all hotel airports will be compared to in the future.
If you did a room by room comparison to this hotel & the resort we stayed at in Soma Bay you would assume that the Le Méridien Cairo Airport room was the resort room.
I mean it wasn’t a resort, but it felt like a nice modern room that you would see at a nice new hotel in the US.
I highly recommend this hotel for your last night in Cairo!
