Earlier this week Roger & I took a trip to a strawberry farm in north Georgia.

I hadn’t been strawberry picking in 2-3 years & I was so excited to find the sweetest strawberries for some upcoming recipes.

This farm was a little bit further away than the one I had visited previously, but it was totally worth it!

We had heard amazing things about their homemade soft-serve strawberry ice cream & I think that may have been why Roger suggested we go strawberry picking this year.

So, of course, the first thing that we did when we arrived at the strawberry farm was to split a large strawberry ice cream.

It was beyond good!

We then headed out to the fields in a golf cart & started picking away.

The bushes were loaded with beautiful strawberries ranging from adorable little ones to big juicy red ones.

We quickly realized that the best strawberries were about halfway down the row, because most people never make it down that far.

I could have spent all day basking in the sun picking all of the strawberries.

But since they only take cash & checks we decided we shouldn’t pick too many strawberries just in case we didn’t bring enough cash.

We then decided to skip the golf cart ride back & to take a slow stroll down the little dirt path back to the store where they sell local honey, strawberry salsa, & other little goodies.

As we walked along the path we dreamed about all of the yummy recipes we would make with the strawberries as well as discussed some of our summer plans.

Even though it was a short walk back, we had worked up an appetite for more strawberry ice cream.

So we decided to split a second soft-serve strawberry ice cream.

And this time we added a few of the small strawberries we had picked to our ice cream.

Somehow we ended up spending $8 on strawberry ice cream & $10 on 4 pounds of freshly picked strawberries.

Totally worth it!

Now that our strawberries are chilling at home I need to take some time to rummage around the moving boxes in our garage to find our ice cream maker.

I am majorly craving more strawberry ice cream!

And if you are looking for a wonderful little strawberry farm to pick at this season, I highly recommend LCCL Strawberry Farm in Rome Georgia.
