Our House Is on the Market and a little life lately on our plans to sell our house this summer.

Last year I started sharing our hope to put our house on the market in 2022.
As the new year began we talked more and more about our goal of selling our house.
And less than 2 weeks ago our house officially hit the market.
Within a few hours, we had a request for a showing, and last week we had our first showing.
While the housing market has been crazy the last couple of years, it started to slow down a bit right when we put ours on the market.
Go figure!
But that’s ok, as it means we need to pray harder and let this be a faith-building experience.
We know a house in this price range can take some time to sell, so we are going to do our best to enjoy our home while it is still ours. (On a side note we listed our house in the middle of the price range of what multiple realtors said we should list it at.)

So many people have asked why we are selling such a beautiful home.
But my home is my family and while we have a few reasons why we hope to sell our house they all fit into one main reason: We have some big goals and dreams that will be more achievable by selling our home.
Truth be told, we built our home knowing we were going to sell it.
As we were making decisions for the house, like paint colors and finishings, we did our best to make choices that could withstand constantly changing trends and would be classically appealing to potential buyers.
And even though we hope to sell our house this summer so that we can start building again this fall, we only plan to keep our house on the market through the end of the summer.
Fall and Christmas are my business’s busy seasons, and the idea of trying to show our house or move during that time of year is too stressful.
I didn’t even give myself 2 weeks off after RoRo was born.
So if for some reason our house doesn’t sell this summer our plan is to take it off the market this fall and work on making our dreams and goals a reality in this home.
And if you’ve been following our journey the last few years, you know that things never go according to plan.
Whatever happens, we will praise God and let Him continue to guide our lives.

Romans 15:2 NIV

You asked how you could pray for me. First off thank you …I believe God connects our paths for our good and His glory according to His faithfulness. I am older…soon to turn 65 and have always believed my purpose was to be a wife mother and helper to those in need. Even though married ..a mother and step mother and active in helping however God opened doors for this I struggled in my marital relationship with a lack of honesty communication and true intimacy. I chose to overlook the problems and believe that all would work out…trusting God would be my helper in showing me truth and direction…that ultimately He was my safe place not my husband. Over 10 years ago my world as I knew it crumbled. I lost my home..all the truths about our finances were exposed. I believe I am not a materlistic person and that I also am forgiving. But the lies and secrets that our detrimental to a healthy marriage continue. I truly don’t want to live like this any longer. I don’t know how to be someone other then who I have always felt I was created to being…I don’t know how to at 65 leave all that I’ve believed my life was. I feel so helpless and hopeless that it paralyzes me. I am trying to stand believing God will make a way but honestly my knees are getting very weak. I know I shouldn’t wish to give up but I confess I just want to go home to Jesus. I don’t know how to ask you to pray but I believe Holy Spirit will pray through you. Thank you. Debbie
Hi Debbie,
I can’t begin to imagine what you are going through. I just said a prayer for you, your husband, and your marriage.
Although I’ve only been married for about 10 years, we have already been through so much together and I know we have a long road ahead of us. And through the ups and downs, I pray that God gives me the strength to cling to Him as you have.
I thought I’d share some resources you may enjoy as I have.
