How to create heatless halo curls overnight with only a tank top & some bobby pins! Plus how I colored my hair with Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color 12.0 Light Pearl Blonde for the holidays.

I have so many exciting things to share with you today, I just don’t know where to begin!
Well since today is all about hair, let’s start with how I’ve officially decided to be a blonde!
For years I have colored my hair from one color to another. I started coloring my hair at home in high school & somewhere around college I started going dark brown in the fall & lighter (or even screaming red) in the summer.
But at the beginning of the year, I decided not just to go lighter, but to go blonde.
For years I’ve been told I should go blonde because it fits my personality & I finally made the leap & now I never want to go back.
I love being blonde!
While the shade of blonde may vary from time to time I’m determined to stay blonde!
So earlier this month I colored my hair using Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color 12.0 Light Pearl Blonde & I am super happy with the color choice!
This wasn’t my first time using Schwarzkopf®, both my mom & I have been using this brand for years!
We love the quality hair color result & ease of use at home.
Plus I love the shine & feel of my hair after coloring with Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color.
And it is so convenient to be able to pick up this hair color at Walmart while I’m doing my weekly shopping!

If you haven’t used Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color before you’ll be excited to learn that K-BOND PLEX™ is salon inspired anti-breakage technology & that K-BOND PLEX™ repairs the inner hair structure for strong & healthy looking hair.
So you will be getting professional quality hair color at home that is easy to use & produces beautiful color results that last!
Earlier this year I completely damaged the ends of my hair using heat curling tools.
My hair was a complete disaster, but I didn’t want to let the blonde grow out leaving the roots a dirty brown color.
So I didn’t, & neither do you!
Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color leaves your hair looking healthy & strong for up to 80% less breakage* (*vs. untreated hair).
Plus the K-BOND PLEX™ repairs the inner hair structure & coats the hair surface after the coloration process for strong & healthy looking hair.
So you’ll have less hair breakage while still achieving the intense colors you desire!

This before picture was taken less than a week before I colored my hair with Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color.

At the beginning of the summer, once I realized just how damaged my hair had become, I started to look for ways to still have gorgeous hair without all of the damage.
If you color your hair regularly Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color is a great step towards better hair, but you also need to be wary of those hot tools you use on your hair.
So I started researching easy ways to curl my hair overnight so that I wouldn’t have to rely heavily on hot tools anymore.
A few years back I had tried rag curls. I did them a few times, but I found it to be too much work & I needed too many strips of fabric.
Then I tried halo curls & I fell in love with the simple technique & minimum amount of items needed to create these overnight heatless curls!
All you need is a tank top & some bobby pins!

Here is how to create these soft gorgeous overnight curls:
- First, brush your almost dry hair (about 95% dry) so that there are no tangles & roll up a tank top so that it creates an “O” or tube shape.
- Place the tank top on your head so that it looks like you are wearing a halo or a crown.
- Next, start on one side of your head (near the front of your face) and wrap a small section of hair once around the halo tank top.
- Take another small section of hair, combining it with the section you just wrapped, & repeat the above step wrapping the hair once again around the halo tank top.
- Continue this process until you get to the back of your head. Then repeat this process on the other side of your head.
- Once all of your hair is wrapped around the halo use bobby pins to secure your hair in place. Let rest for 8+ hours.
Note 1: I don’t normally use any products on my hair before curling it overnight, but if you have a favorite you can definitely apply it before curling.
Note 2: If you plan to wear this to bed (I usually do), & you know that you are a restless sleeper who tosses & turns, you may want to add a few extra bobby pins on our hair to keep your hair in place.
Note 3: Also, if you have really long or thick hair you may want to use two tank tops to create a higher & lower halo on your head. This will also create more layers of curls.

This is my, “Can you believe I woke up with curls like this?” face!
In the morning (or once your 8 hours are up) I like to go ahead & get myself fully ready for the day before attending to my hair. Sometimes I also add a spritz of hairspray before unraveling my curls.
To unravel your curls simply take out all of the bobby pins & carefully pull out your curls by starting at the back (where you ended) & working your way towards the front on each side of your head.
Brush out your curls with your fingers to loosen them up.
If the top of your head is a little flat (compared to your beautiful curls) you can just tease it a little up top.
Once you’ve arranged your curls the way you like them, spray with hairspray & enjoy your day!

I’ve been using this heatless curling technique for months & now that my hair looks beautiful again, thanks to Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color, I’m ready for the holidays & all of the fun times to come!
It’s been about a week since I colored my hair & I am loving the shine & feel!
