This Fresh Homemade Lemonade is easy to make, perfectly sweet, and tastes just like summer!

If I was to describe this drink in one word it would be simply “refreshing.”

Because this Fresh Homemade Lemonade is like summer in an ice cold cup!

And oh my is it good!

Not too sweet, not too sour, but just right for drinking glass after glass of sweet lemon perfection.

In the past when I’ve made homemade lemonade I would squeeze each lemon by hand with a basic citrus juicer (like this one).

But this time I decided to use the juicer Roger gave me at Christmas and it made the whole process so much faster and easier!

This recipe makes quite a bit of fresh lemonade, so the next time I make it for the two of us I’ll probably cut this easy lemonade recipe in half.

But for a family who loves lemonade, this will make just the right amount to quench the thirst of your biggest lemonade lovers.

And with hot summer weather upon us, I have a feeling that I’ll be making this again and again all summer long for our friends and family!

  • Author: Giustina Miller
  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 5 minutes
  • Total Time: 20 minutes + optional chill time
  • Yield: 10+ Cups Lemonade 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Simple Syrup Ingredients

  • 2 Cups White Sugar
  • 2 Cups Water

Lemonade

  • 2 Cups Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice (approximately 812 lemons)
  • 57 Cups Water
  • Ice, optional
  • Lemon Slices, optional

Instructions

  1. First, create the simple syrup by bringing the 2 cups of water and 2 cups of sugar to a simmer in a small saucepan at medium heat, whisking occasionally.
  2. Once the sugar has dissolved and is mostly clear, about 3-5 minutes, remove the pot from the heat and set it to the side to cool.
  3. Next, pour the lemon juice and the cooled simple syrup into a large pitcher.
  4. Pour 5 cups of water into the pitcher and stir well.
  5. Taste the lemonade and add the additional 2 cups of water (1/2 cup at a time, to taste) if you would like to dilute it more. *(1)
  6. Chill for 1-2 hours or add ice (which when melted will dilute the lemonade more).
  7. Serve with lemon slices and enjoy!

Notes

  1. This will depend on the sweetness/acidity of the lemon and personal preference.
