These Caramel Apple Bites are bite-sized mini caramel apples that are fun and easy to make and eat.
All the way back in 2013, when I first started my blog, I shared a recipe for Mini Caramel Apples.
I was so beyond excited when some online magazines picked it up and shared it on their sites, which gave me encouragement to keep creating and sharing online.
Here we are 12 years later, and I’m so excited to share an updated version of these Caramel Apple Bites.
This time around, I dipped them in chocolate first, inspired by my viral Caramel Apple Slices recipe, to help the toppings stick better and help make this fall sweet treat last longer.
These Caramel Apple Bites are bite-sized mini caramel apples that are so easy to make and extra fun to eat.
The toothpicks make it easier to make them, and fun to eat for adults, and then I just pulled the toothpicks off so my son could enjoy some too!
When I first made them so many years ago, I knew they were perfect for little ones, as they are easier to eat than a whole caramel apple.
Back then, I could only dream of sharing them with our future children, and this year I got to make that dream a reality.

Caramel Apple Bites
These Caramel Apple Bites are bite-sized mini caramel apples that are fun and easy to make and eat.
Instructions
- First, use a melon baller to scoop small balls out of an apple.
- Then stick tall toothpicks into each apple ball.
- Next, melt the chocolate according to the packaging instructions. Set to the side to cool slightly.
- Using a clean, dry cloth, pat dry each apple ball. *(1)
- Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Dip each apple ball in the dark chocolate and shake gently off the excess chocolate, set on the parchment paper, and let the chocolate harden.
- Then, melt the caramel bits according to their packaging instructions, and let it cool slightly.
- Drizzle the caramel on each of the chocolate apple balls and top with your favorite toppings, like chopped peanuts and sprinkles.
- Enjoy! *(2)
Notes
- This helps the apple be less juicy/wet and allows the chocolate to stick better to it.
- I prefer to make and eat these on the same day, but you can place them in the fridge and eat them the next day, similar to my caramel apple slices. Click here for my Caramel Apple Slices recipe, and click here for extra tips and tricks on when to make them and how to store them.

I can’t wait to make these. What is the best kind of apple for this recipe?
We usually get honeycrisp and gala apples. 🙂
Did you peel the apple before using the melon ball scoop? Or did you leave some with the peel?
I left the peel on <3 It’s the flat base beneath the apple ball. 🙂
