This is a super easy Extra Seasoned Chex Mix recipe your whole family will love. Plus, it’s vegetarian!

One of my husband’s favorite fall snacks is homemade Chex Mix.
And while I enjoy this fun savory treat one thing that I’ve never been a fan of is that Worcestershire sauce has anchovies in it.
So surprisingly, many Chex Mix recipes are not vegetarian!
I’ve been a vegetarian my whole life, and although I don’t mind enzymes in things like parmesan cheese (although the vegetarian options are always great), I prefer to avoid anchovies.
So about 6 years ago we started buying vegan Worcestershire sauce so that we could make our own homemade Chex Mix.
But not just any regular Chex mix, Extra Seasoned Chex Mix.
Just the way Roger likes it!
And hopefully, you and your family will enjoy it too!

- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 1 hour & 15 minutes + 1 hour drying
- Total Time: 2 hrs 30 minutes
- Yield: 16 cups 1x
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Salted Butter, melted
- 1/2 cup Vegan Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Season Salt
- 3 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Onion Powder
- 4 Cups Corn Chex
- 5 Cups Wheat Chex
- 3 Cups Cheez-It Cheese Crackers
- 3 Cups Mini Pretzels
- 1 Cup Pecan Halves
Instructions
- First, preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Next, melt the 1 cup of butter in a fry pan over low/medium heat.
- Once melted, remove from the heat and add the 1/2 cup wostershire sauce, 2 tablespoons season salt, 3 teaspoons garlic powder, and 2 teaspoons onion powder. Whisk until combined and set to the side.
- Next, combine the 4 cups Corn Chex, 5 cups Wheat Chex, 3 cups Cheez-It Cheese Crackers, 3 cups mini pretzels, and 1 Cup pecan halves. Then divide the dry ingredients between 2 large baking sheets.
- Pour the seasoned butter mixture evenly over the 2 baking sheets of dry ingredients.
- Thoroughly stir the mixture to ensure an even coat over the dry ingredients.
- Bake the chex mix for 75 minutes or until fully dry, stirring every 15 minutes. At each 15 minute interval, rotate the 2 pans between the lower and middle oven rack for even baking.
- Finally, place 2 large clean hand towels on your counter and spread the chex mix evenly in a single layer to dry more for approximately 1-2 hours.
- Enjoy and keep sealed in a airtight food storage container for up to a week.

Made recipe as listed except only used 1 T of seasoned salt, per our preference. We really enjoyed this version and it makes a large batch, perfect for gift giving. Would highly recommend!
