Hey ya’ll! After a strange week last week I am back! And since it feels like forever since I shared a new blog post – even though it was just last week – I thought we should start with something basic, like a PB & J sandwich – but with a twist! But before we get to that I thought I would share a link with you to my interview with Julia from Positively Glamorous.
So originally I had a back to basics, but with a twist, mini food blog series going last week – which I had started on Tuesday with this Macaroni & Cheese Soup recipe. I had planned on posting this PB & J Wontons recipe on Thursday, but as you know that was a no-go. However, I wasn’t just going to let this little recipe slide by forgotten, so today I am finally sharing this fun little twist on the traditional sandwich by showing you how to make PB & J Wontons!

I know I have shared quite quite a few wonton recipes in the past – like Mexican Wontons, Simple Fresh Ravioli, Caprese Bites, & Wonton S’mores – & that I need to go back & update all of them, but I was really excited about these PB & J Wontons! Now of course I am not suggesting that you make all of your sandwiches this way, but they are fun for a special occasion! I just love the combination of the fried crisp wonton & the warm PB & J that melts in your mouth! Seriously – so good!
Ingredients:
Wonton Wraps
Peanut Butter
Jelly
Water
Vegetable Oil
Powdered Sugar – Optional
To make your PB & J Wontons circular instead of square just use a round cookie cutter to cut the wonton wraps.

First, place a little bit of peanut butter & jelly in the center of a wonton wrap & brush the edges with a little bit of water – if you don’t have a brush just use your fingers. Then place another wonton wrap on top & seal the edges by pressing down on them with your fingers. To make the ridges use the end of a fork, just make sure you don’t puncture the PB & J Wonton.
Continue this process until you have made a bunch of cute little PB & J Wontons. Then in a pan, with enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom of your pan (I know not very scientific, but you don’t need much), fry your PB & J Wontons at medium heat on both sides until golden brown.

Place the fried PB & J Wontons on a plate lined with a paper towel, to soak up the extra oil. Serve warm with a sprinkling of powdered sugar from your DIY Mason Jar Powdered Sugar Shaker.

What about freezing these, as a take on the “Uncrustable?” Thinking I might try baking them and then freezing them….
Do these nees to be refriferated? Or can they be kept in a container?
I ate mine a little too fast to find out. They are best fresh, but I would recommend keeping them in a sealed container in your fridge. Hope you are having a lovely week! 🙂
What a fun, little twist on the classic PB & J. These would make great little snacks to cozy up with while binge watching house of cards (not that I do that). 🙂
Thanks Lynn! I definitely agree! Might as well have a tasty guilty pleasure while binge watching Netflix! 🙂
